Preserving Land for You in 2022

The Living River Trust is a non-profit working hard each day to protect and preserve the land and water of the Elizabeth River. And we are on a roll in 2022!

We’ve protected environmentally valuable land in Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Chesapeake, Suffolk, and Portsmouth — forever. Not to mention our active work cleaning up the water where we remove pollutants and clean the river bottom with our Paradise Creek project in Portsmouth.

Check out the new video.

The Living River Trust was recently awarded a "Giving Back" Award by Coastal Virginia Magazine in recognition of the Trust's outstanding efforts in improving our communities and environment. For example, this 88-acre waterfront parcel will soon to be a community park with water access, boating access, and hiking trails, open to the public. The Trust has led the planning, purchase, and donation of the land for a future park for the use of our communities, while also insuring the beautiful and environmentally important woodlands and wetlands are preserved in the future.

The Living River Trust so appreciates our friends and neighbors joining us on site on June 16, 2022. We are proud to celebrate the partnership that led to a community and environmental victory with the dedication of the natural riverfront park that will become part of the City of Chesapeake’s community park system. Check out some of the highlights in photos.
